Demolition Contractor in Agoura Hills, CA

Agoura Hills mixes canyon and hillside homes, Old Agoura’s larger, horse-friendly lots, lake communities around Lake Lindero and commercial centers along Agoura Road and Kanan. BRG Demolition is a licensed demolition contractor (CSLB #1096336) based in Camarillo, about a half-hour east on the 101. We work for Agoura Hills homeowners, property owners, general contractors and developers on teardowns, interior strip-outs, concrete removal and lot prep. You’ll work with one owner-led crew, and the person who bids your job runs it.

What to know before demolition in Agoura Hills

  • Protected trees: oaks and more. Agoura Hills updated its tree rules in late 2025. Protected trees now include oaks (including scrub oaks), California sycamores and Southern California black walnuts at qualifying sizes, which the City sets. A permit is needed to remove or damage a protected tree, and work within a tree’s protection zone, including demolition, trenching and grading, can require one too. New construction or ground disturbance near protected trees may need a development tree permit. The City has an oak tree consultant who can advise. Plan this before demo day, not during it.
  • City permit. Agoura Hills runs its own Building & Safety Division at City Hall (30001 Ladyface Ct). Demolition permits for properties in city limits are issued there.
  • Woolsey Fire rebuilds. The 2018 Woolsey Fire burned through parts of Agoura Hills. The City’s special Woolsey rebuild ordinance expired in 2021, so remaining rebuilds now follow standard permit rules. If you’re clearing what’s left on a fire-affected lot, check with Building & Safety and Planning first.
  • Asbestos: South Coast AQMD. Agoura Hills is in LA County, so asbestos falls under South Coast AQMD Rule 1403, not the Ventura County APCD. A certified asbestos survey comes before any demolition, asbestos is removed first, and every demolition needs a Rule 1403 notification, which the building department will want a copy of.
  • Utilities and 811. Water and sewer are generally from the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District. Some hillside and Old Agoura properties may be on septic. We call DigAlert (811) before digging.
