What changes from city to city
Demolition rules aren’t the same everywhere. Each city’s building department sets its own demolition permit requirements, and the air district depends on the county: projects in Ventura County fall under the Ventura County Air Pollution Control District, projects in LA County fall under the South Coast AQMD, and projects in Santa Barbara County fall under the Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District. Some cities also protect oak trees or have extra hillside, coastal or HOA rules. Each city page covers what we typically see there, and we’ll walk you through it for your address when we bid.
