A good remodel starts with a clean, careful demo. BRG Demolition does interior demolition and soft strip for homeowners, general contractors and commercial owners, from a single bathroom to a full office floor. We take out what needs to go, protect what’s staying, and haul away the debris so the next crew can get to work right away.
Interior work is different from tearing down a whole building. The house or building is still standing, people may be living or working in it, and finished surfaces next to the work area need to survive the job. That calls for planning, the right hand tools as much as machines, and a crew that cleans up as it goes.
What’s included
- Kitchen demolition: cabinets, countertops, backsplash, flooring, appliances and soffits
- Bathroom demolition: tubs, showers, tile, vanities, toilets and flooring
- Whole-home interior demo, down to studs, for full remodels
- Soft strip: removing non-structural materials such as drywall, ceilings, flooring, fixtures, doors, trim and insulation ahead of a remodel or a structural demolition
- Commercial interior strip-outs for offices, retail and restaurants
- Non-structural wall removal, plus structural removal when there’s an engineered plan and the right permit
- Haul-off and broom-clean finish
How the process works
- Walkthrough and bid. We look at the space, confirm exactly what comes out and what stays, and give you a written bid.
- Protection. We protect floors, doorways and finished areas that aren’t part of the demo, and set up dust control to keep the rest of the house or building livable.
- Demolition. Our crew removes materials in a controlled order, keeping walkways clear and debris contained.
- Haul-off. Debris goes out as we work, not left piled in your yard or parking lot. We recycle concrete and metal where possible and provide disposal and recycling receipts.
- Clean handoff. We leave the space broom-clean and ready for your contractor.
Permits, asbestos, lead and utilities
Interior demolition often goes hand in hand with a remodel permit, and some cities require a separate permit for demo work, especially when walls, plumbing or electrical are involved. Older homes and buildings may contain asbestos in materials like popcorn ceilings, flooring, mastic, drywall joint compound and pipe insulation, so a survey is often required before disturbing them. Homes built before 1978 may also have lead-based paint, which comes with federal and state work-practice rules for renovation. BRG Demolition doesn’t do asbestos or lead abatement. A licensed abatement contractor must handle asbestos and lead first, and we start after clearance. Plumbing, gas and electrical lines in the work area need to be shut off and made safe by a qualified trade before demo begins. The owner or GC usually pulls the permit, but we can pull it for you.

FAQ
What’s the difference between interior demolition and soft strip?
Interior demolition is removing specific parts of a space, like a kitchen or bathroom. Soft strip removes all the non-structural materials, leaving the framing, structure and slab, usually before a full remodel or a structural demolition.
Can I stay in my house during interior demolition?
Often, yes, for kitchen and bath demos. We set up protection and dust control, but expect noise during work hours. For whole-house strips, most clients stay elsewhere.
Do you remove walls?
We remove non-structural walls. Load-bearing walls need an engineered plan and a permit first, and we’ll work from that plan.
How long does a kitchen or bathroom demo take?
Many kitchen and bath demos are done quickly, but the time depends on size, materials (tile over mortar takes longer), and access. Your bid will include an expected timeline.
Do you haul away the debris?
Yes. Haul-off is included in our interior demolition bids unless you tell us otherwise.
The BRG crew of 4 guys were excellent! They worked all day to demo my kitchen, closets, outdoor pergola, trees, and shrubs. It was a very hot 90 deg day and they pushed through from 7:45am to 4pm! A+ service and Bryan the owner is great to work with. He is a good listener and follows instructions very well. I highly recommend their demo service.
