Concrete & Driveway Removal in Camarillo & Ventura County

Old concrete doesn’t go quietly, but it does go. BRG Demolition breaks out and hauls away concrete driveways, patios, walkways, slabs and footings for homeowners, property owners and contractors across Ventura County and western LA County. We protect what’s staying, remove what isn’t, and leave a clean area ready for new hardscape, landscaping or construction.

Common reasons to remove concrete

  • A new driveway. Cracked, sunken or heaved concrete usually has to come out completely before a new driveway can be poured.
  • Backyard makeovers. Old patios and walkways come out to make room for pavers, turf, a pool or landscaping.
  • ADUs and additions. Existing slabs, pads and walkways often sit right where the new structure needs to go.
  • Rebuilds. Foundations and slabs from an old house or garage are removed so the new build starts on clean ground.

Whatever the reason, the job is the same at its core: break it out cleanly, protect what’s next to it, and get every piece off the property.

What’s included

  • Driveway removal, full or partial
  • Patio and walkway removal
  • Slab and foundation removal for rebuilds, additions and ADUs
  • Footings, pads and equipment bases
  • Block and retaining wall removal
  • Haul-off of concrete and base material, with concrete recycled where possible and disposal and recycling receipts provided
  • Rough grade and cleanup so the next contractor has a clean start

How the process works

  1. Site visit and bid. We measure the area, check thickness and rebar where we can, look at access for equipment and trucks, and note anything that has to be protected.
  2. Utility check. For any work that goes below the surface, a DigAlert (811) ticket is called in so underground lines are marked before we break ground.
  3. Break-out. We use the right tools for the job, from breakers to machines, and control dust and flying debris.
  4. Load and haul. Concrete is loaded and hauled off the same job.
  5. Clean finish. The area is raked or rough-graded and swept, ready for the next step.

Permits, utilities and site concerns

Simple patio or walkway removal on private property usually doesn’t need a permit, but driveway approaches, work in the public right-of-way, and slab removal as part of a larger project may. Check with your city, or ask us what’s typical where you live. Underground utilities are the biggest hidden risk in concrete work, which is why we have lines marked before digging. We also look for irrigation, drain lines and conduit running under the slab and plan around them. When a permit is needed, the owner or GC usually pulls it, but we can pull it for you.

Why choose BRG Demolition

  • Licensed and insured. Licensed California contractor, CSLB #1096336. Fully insured, COI available on request.
  • Right equipment, careful operators. We run our own equipment in-house: skid steer, excavator, dump trucks and breakers. Saw-cutting is done in-house too.
  • We protect what stays. Houses, garages, fences, landscaping and neighboring property get the same attention as the concrete coming out.
  • One call for demo and haul-off. No separate dumpster rental to arrange.

Service areas

We remove concrete throughout Ventura County, including Camarillo, Oxnard, Ventura, Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Simi Valley and Moorpark, and in western LA County: Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Malibu and the west San Fernando Valley.

FAQ

How much does concrete removal cost?

It depends on the area, thickness, whether there’s rebar or wire mesh, access for equipment, and haul distance. We give a free, written bid after seeing the area, or from photos and measurements for simple jobs.

Do I need a permit to remove my driveway?

Often not for work on private property, but if the job touches the driveway approach, sidewalk or curb, the city usually requires a permit. Ask us and we’ll tell you what’s typical in your city.

Can you remove part of a driveway or patio and leave the rest?

Yes. We saw-cut a clean line in-house so the remaining concrete stays intact.

What happens to the concrete you remove?

It’s hauled off site as part of the job and recycled where possible. We provide disposal and recycling receipts.

Will the equipment damage my yard?

We plan the access route, protect what we can, and tell you up front about anything that might be affected, such as lawn along the access path.
